Comedian Kapil Sharma’s The Great Indian Kapil Show starring Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek and Rajiv Thakur as regulars, and Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Riddhima Kapoor as special guests on the first episode is streaming on Netflix. The first episode of the new show with Sunil Grover returning to the Kapil Sharma’s show is not offering anything new except for the platform after the successful run of the TV broadcasting with Comedy Nights With Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show.
Still, in The Great Indian Kapil Show, there some moments you don’t want to miss.
One is the story about Bollywood’s numero uno family’s emotional lives and how each one of the family respects and treat each other. In this case, there some details about the Rishi Kapoor khandaan, in which they affectionately and passionately remember how Chintu, the late actor, lived his life. “He was one of the biggest ‘troll’ even before the invent of social media. Down two pegs of ‘lime water,’ father used to call his sister and troll her for hours,” remembered Ranbir Kapoor about his father.
“He never used to pamper the children. He only gave what they needed, more than that. It was me who used to give my children some extra money,” Neetu recalled how they brought up the children.
Then you will hear from Ranbir Kapoor how he is feeling now about the parenthood. “I don’t want to go anywhere once the shoot or any event is over in the town. I suddenly go back to Raha,” Ranbir says while talking about the changes happened in his life after he became a father. He also mentions how Raha is having a good time with his actress wife Alia Bhatt.
Another moment in the show is Kapil Sharma seen talking about his personal life, with his mother and wife present in the audience. As Neetu says Ranbir has changed a lot after his wedding to Alia, Kapil’s mother assert that the comedian is the same son how he used to be before the wedding. Ginny, Kapil Sharma’s wife who is appearing for a Kapil Sharma show for the first time then comes to the screen, and then they engage in some funny banter about the birth of their children and how Kapil behaves in the household.
Then there is the best moment from the first episode: That involves a certain ‘Dafli’ comes to the screen and behaves agitated with the Kapoors, especially Ranbir. Dafli is Sunil Grover’s upgrade from the much loved and followed ‘Guthi’ from his previous appearance in a Kapil Sharma show. The fans would remember the reason for the agitation – some funny events happened in the past with a ‘marriage proposal’ of Guthi with Ranbir. After sometime, Dafli patches up with Ranbir and then they both hug (for the comedy’s sake) and then with Animal’s song on background, they continue the skit.
Other than, you have Kiku Sharda, the man who kept the Kapil Sharma shows with a minimum level of enthusiasm after Mr Grover left, comes as chef Dhaniya Lal, and throws some jokes.
This show, like other Kapil Sharma shows, has the same ingredients and popular gigs. Lets hope it gets better next time.
