“Poetic Beautiful Classic”: How Katrina Kaif Rated Vicky Koushal Starrer ‘Sam Bahadur’

The Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar hit the theatre screens on December 1, Friday. Shortly after watching the movie, the Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif took to her Instagram and praised the movie as a “poetic, beautiful, classic film”. According to Ms Kaif, the movie transported its audiences to “another era”. Sam Bahadur is a Hindi-language biographical war drama movie which was set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, in which the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front, ending in the creation of Bangladesh.

“You can see your passion to telling his story and attention to detail in every shot”, said Ms Kaif sharing the poster of the movie. She congratulated and praised husband and actor Vicky Kaushal for his presence and performance in the movie: “And SAM !!!!….. GRACE, HEROISM, GRIT. What a performance, flawless”.

Katrina Kaif in a deep-hearted way expressed her astonishment seeing Vicky on screen as Sam Manekshaw. According to her, the role was inspiring and the performance projected his true craft “in the most brilliant integral way”. She went so proud of her husband as an actor as he shown his way across the screen.

“I’ve seen you this last year pour yourself into this film and transform into sam. A performance to be remembered”, Ms Kaif added. She watched the movie on its special screening on Wednesday and walked the red-carpet hand in hand with Vicky Kaushal, and the duo was twinning in black. To the heartwarming comments of wife Katrina Kaif, Vicky replied, “you are my superpower!”

Sam Bahadur was co-written by Meghna Gulzar along with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Srivastava and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies. Along with Vicky Kaushal, the movie presents an interesting cast catalogue including Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub. The movie hit theatre screens on December 1, a big Bollywood clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie Animal.
