“Well Done Sweety”: Abhishek Bachchan Reviews Vicky Kaushal In Sam Bahadur

“Thank you for telling this story”, Indian film actor Abhishek Bachchan on Thursday took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and praised the Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur. Mr Bachchan watched the movie on Wednesday in a special screening and praised the entire crew and cast for their enormous efforts behind. The movie, a Meghna Gulzar directorial, is all set to hit the theatre screens from December 1.

Sam Bahadur is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, in which the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front, ending in the creation of Bangladesh. It is a Hindi-language biographical war drama movie, co-written by Meghna Gulzar along with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Srivastava and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies. Along with Vicky Kaushal, the movie presents an interesting cast catalogue including Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub.

According to Abhishek Bachchan, “the enormity of all that #FieldMarshalSamManekshaw did and achieved is overwhelming!” He congratulated director Meghna Gulzar as she had done a “huge responsibility” to present one of India’s “greatest sons and she does it wonderfully”. Mr Bachchan expressed his gratitude for the entire cast and crew of the movie and added that they should be very proud, “thank you for telling this story”.

Fans were eagerly waiting for the movie as it presents Vicky Kaushal with an unseen brand-new experimental appearance and mannerisms. To Mr Kaushal, Mr Bachchan wrote, “My veerey, what do I even say about you… you continue to set the bar so high for all of us and then so effortlessly jump over it as only Sam can. All I can say is “Well done, sweety”!!!”

To Mr Bachchan’s X post the RSVP movies expressed their thanks. They wrote, “thank you for your words of appreciation. We”re absolutely thrilled and proud to bring Sam Manekshaw”s history to the big screen!”.
