Social media agrees that Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Johnny Lever seem to be the only highlight in the film.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s highly anticipated Bollywood comedy franchise, Housefull 5 hit theatres today. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film boasts a stellar cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, and others.

While the previous Housefull instalments focused on comedy, Housefull 5 adds a dash of murder mystery as well. Social media reviews are in, and the reactions seem to be somewhat mixed.

An X user called the film a “mindless comedy” carried by Akshay Kumar. “The chaos crew. Haunted palace, two endings, three heroes, and only one rule: “Don’t use logic” The jokes are recycled, the plot’s lost, but if you’re into mindless comedy, it delivers some laughs. Perfect for weekend popcorn + doston ke chilla-chilli combo.”

Notably, the film has two alternative endings (and murderers): Housefull A and Housefull B.

Another netizen echoed similar feelings for Version A of the film. “Boring/forced comedy but really good suspense! They had such a hugeee n talented starcast yet makers couldn’t give them proper screen time. Couldn’t guess the killer.”

This social media user admitted that there were some scenes that made them laugh. “gotta admit, a few Akshay, and one Sonam bit were genuinely funny.”
