Ahead of the teaser release on Friday, Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal shared a new poster of his upcoming movie, Sam Bahadur on social media.
On Thursday, Sardar Udham actor took to his Instagram and shared a post showing his character in the movie, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. He captioned the picture as: “His Life. Our History.”

Sam Bahadur, the biographical drama is based on the life Mr Manekshaw, India’s first Field Marshal. The movie is directed by Meghna Gulzar. Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak was her previous directorial. Besides Mr Kaushal, the movie also features Sanya Malhotra as Manekshaw”s wife Silloo, and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Other significant star cast includes Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub.
Starting his service in World War II, Mr Manekshaw’s military career spanned over four decades and five war. Also called as Sam Bahadur (“Sam the Brave”), he served as the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, under the banner of RSVP Movies, Sam Bahadur’s music is scored by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and cinematography is handled by Jay I. Patel. The movie slate to release in theatres on December 1, 2023.
Vicky Kaushal’s recent release was Vijay Krishna Acharya’s The Great Indian Family alongside Manushi Chhillar. His previous releases include Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke with Sara Ali Khan, and Shashank Khaitan’s Govinda Naam Mera with Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar.
