The 70th Filmfare Awards South celebrated the finest talent in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema at a glittering ceremony held at the Adlux Convention Centre in Kochi.
The evening saw major wins for Pushpa 2: The Rule, Amaran, and Aadujeevitham, with several top stars taking home prestigious honours.
Tamil Nadu State Film Awards Announced: Five Malayali Actresses Dominate Best Actress Category
In the Telugu category, Pushpa 2: The Rule emerged as the biggest winner. The film won Best Film, while director Sukumar bagged the Best Director award.
Allu Arjun won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his performance in the blockbuster sequel. Veteran star Amitabh Bachchan received the Best Supporting Actor award for Kalki 2898 AD.

Other notable winners included Nivetha Thomas (Best Actress – Leading Role), Kajal Aggarwal (Best Actress – Critics’), and music composer Devi Sri Prasad for Best Music Album.
Padma Awards 2026: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal Receive Highest Awards
In Tamil cinema, Amaran claimed the Best Film award. Rajkumar Periasamy shared Best Director honours, while Sivakarthikeyan won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male).
Sai Pallavi took home the Best Actress award for her performance in Amaran. Critics’ acting awards went to Arvind Swami and Anna Ben.
The Outstanding Performance award was presented to Vikram for Thangalaan.
Malayalam cinema saw a strong showing from Manjummel Boys, which won Best Film. Meanwhile, Aadujeevitham secured multiple honours, including Best Actor (Critics’) for Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Megastar Mammootty won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Bramayugam, while Urvashi won Best Actress for Ullozhukku.
Music composer Sushin Shyam won Best Music Album for Aavesham.
In the Kannada category, Shakhahaari won Best Film. Sriimurali received Best Actor (Male) for Bagheera, while Akshatha Pandavapura won Best Actress for Koli Esru.
The ceremony also honoured veterans Sreenivasan and Sreekumaran Thampi with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Actor Bhavana was presented with the Cine Icon Award.
