As the arrest of the actor Allu Arjun due to the stampede at the Sathya theatre made headlines, the injured 8-year-old, Sri Tej, is currently on ventilator support and has intermittent fever. As per reports, it has been confirmed in the statement released on Saturday that the boy is still in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on ventilator support with minimal requirements.
Tube feedings are being tolerated by the child, who is haemodynamically stable. The child, however, is experiencing intermittent fever, an altered sensorium, and dystonic movements.
Sri Tej was critically injured on December 4 after a stampede outside at the Hyderabad theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule and is undergoing treatment at KIMS Cuddles Hospital, Secunderabad. His mother, a 32-year-old woman named Revathy, died due to asphyxiation as the crowd jostled at the theatre to get a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who visited the theatre.

Reacting to the tragic event, actor Allu Arjun and the Pushpa 2 team apologised to the victim’s family, and the actor announced Rs 25 lakhs as aid to the victim’s family. While expressing his condolences, the actor also promised to extend his support for the well-being of the family.
Soon after this tragic event, a case was filed against the actor, and he was arrested by the Chikkadpally police on Friday, December 13. Despite the woman’s husband expressing willingness to withdraw the case, stating that Allu Arjun wasn’t responsible for the stampede, the court decided to proceed with the case.
He was sent to 14 days of judicial custody but later granted interim bail for four weeks by the Telangana High Court. However, due to technical issues, Allu Arjun had to spend a night in jail before being released. After his release from jail, the actor spoke to reporters and said, “I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate with the authorities.” He also expressed his condolences to the deceased lady’s family, calling it an “unfortunate incident.”

Allu Arjun’s fans have been extending their support to the actor, and social media is abuzz with outrage and questions over his arrest. Calling it a “preplanned arrest,” many question why Allu Arjun was arrested while others who were also responsible for different stampedes were not. Users are also asking why the arrest was made on a Friday, when courts are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
