Edited by Fathimathu Shana

Radhika Merchant has delivered a heart touching speech for Anant Ambani during their celebrated pre-wedding bash. The new daughter-in-law in the Ambani family conveyed her deep admiration and affection for the youngest Ambani. Reflecting on the significance of finding a life partner, Merchant articulated a poignant speech.

During the three-day long pre-wedding bash, amidst the glitzy cocktail night, Radhika Merchant delivered a lovely speech for her fiancé. She said, “when you find somebody, you find somebody to promise you care about everything. The good, the bad, the beautiful, the mundane. You say your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed, because I will witness it”.

However, the eagle-eyed netizens were fast to find that the words resonate Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon’s character in the 2004 film Shall We Dance? In the film, Sarandon delivers a poignant monologue ‘Witness To Your Life’. Her words from the film reflects the themes of companionship and the fundamental essence of marriage.

The discovery sparked a flurry discussion on social media platforms. Many questioned the originality of Merchant’s speech. When some of the users tried to defend Merchant, attributing the similarity between the speech to mere confidence, others expressed disappointment at the apparent lack of authenticity.

One user called the incident “embarrassing”. Another user said that, “even chat-GPT would have done a better job at writing”. At the same time, another user, “that’s not embarrassing, she chose to say it. You really think she can’t afford an editor…!”
