The shoot of the Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1 was stalled on Monday after a bus carrying the cast members met with an accident on Sunday night.
The bus carrying some of the junior artists met with an accident and overturned in Udupi district. As per reports, six junior artists of the film have been hospitalised.

According to police, the minibus that carried a bunch of the film cast overturned at Kollur while returning from Mudur after completing the shoot in Jadkal. As per an official report, 20 junior artists were travelling in the minibus.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Jadkal and Kundapur for treatment. The Kollur police are investigating the matter. News 18 reported that the six junior artists with serious injuries have been hospitalised at Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is the prequel to the 2022 sleeper hit Kantara, which starred Rishab Shetty. Filming began in November last year. The first look and teaser were released on 27 November 2023.

Earlier this month, a new poster of the film announced its release date—October 2, 2025. A first-look teaser was also released. Kantara: Chapter 1 stars Rishab Shetty, Jayaram, and Jisshu Sengupta. Shetty has also returned to direct.
This film was written and helmed by Shetty, who won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his spectacular performance in Kantara: Chapter 1. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, Kantara 2 will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and English.
