It’s finally here, the most anticipated prequel to Rishab Shetty‘s action thriller, Kantara 2. Promising a gripping narrative, Hombale Films has offered glimpses into the world of its prequel with an intriguing teaser. Titled Kantara Chapter 1: A Legend, the 82-second promo video of the prequel sets the tone for the legendary story behind the proceedings of the first part.
As the first part of the film piqued the interest of the audience and made it a blockbuster, the prequel is ready to drive the audience deep into the twisted layers of the tale.

The makers also unveiled the release date of the film along with the teaser. As per the official announcement, the film will hit the screens on 2 October 2025.
Introducing the terrific backstory, the teaser drives the audience to the Kadamba dynasty. The intriguing teaser opens with the words, “The moment has arrived; the divine forest whispers,” appearing in fiery text on a black screen. In the background, a blurred image shows Shiva (Rishab Shetty) walking through the forest, carrying a torch.
As he becomes encircled by fire, a commanding voice declares, “Light! Everything is visible in light! But this is not light! It’s a vision! A vision that shows us what was, what is and what will be tomorrow! Can’t you see?” Amid the darkness, with light focused solely on him, Shiva’s face emerges. The teaser also reveals that the story is set during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty.
Offering a horrific vibe, the teaser features Rishab Shetty as a blood-soaked man with a rudraksha around his neck and long, flowing hair; his presence intensifies as the pulsating background score builds. When his face is finally revealed, we also see glowing embers in his eyes, setting the stage for a darker and more intense tale.

This film was penned and helmed by Rishab Shetty, the actor who won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his spectacular performance in Kantara: Chapter 1. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, Kantara 2 will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and English.
