Sara Ali Khan-starrer “Ae Watan Mere Watan”, a periodic drama, is set to released on Prime Video in March. The OTT giant announced that the film, set on the backdrop of pre-Independence era, will release on March 21. Incidentally, the actress will also feature in the murder mystery film, set to release on Netflix on March 15.
The announcement was made with a trailer, where the leading character, Usha, is urging her listeners on the radio to revolt against the Britishers. The movie is inspired by the real-life freedom fighter Usha Mehta”s story. The film is directed by Kannan Iyer and will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra’s Dharmatic Entertainment.
Sara shared the teaser of the film, co-written by Kannan and Darab Farooqui. She wrote on her Instagram account, “Desh ki kahaani, Usha ki zubaani World Radio Day par!#AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime, Mar 21 only on @primevideoin”.

The film makers have announced the release date coinciding with World Radio Day. The movie will also feature Emraan Hashmi in a pivotal cameo while Sara”s mother, Amrita Singh, was also seen on the sets.
