Superman 2025 Trailer Unveiled: James Gunn's Bold Reimagining Soars Into Theatres This July
Warner Bros. India just dropped the electrifying new trailer for Superman (2025), giving fans a deeper glimpse into the reimagined DC Universe under the creative vision of writer-director James Gunn.
Scheduled to hit Indian theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, including 3D and IMAX formats on July 11, this first DC Studios feature film is set to redefine the legacy of the world’s most iconic superhero.

The trailer, released on June 11 and already clocking hundreds of thousands of views, showcases breathtaking action sequences and a compelling new take on Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult. “Superman, the most powerful being on planet Earth,” he declares menacingly, setting the tone for the epic conflict ahead.
At the heart of this cinematic reboot is David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood), stepping into the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent. Opposite him is Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel) as the fearless journalist Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the chilling and calculated Lex Luthor.
The supporting ensemble includes:
-
Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind)
-
Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham) as Guy Gardner
-
Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad) as Metamorpho
-
Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus)
-
Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart)
-
Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell
This reboot aims to present a kinder, more hopeful Superman, one driven by compassion and his belief in humanity’s goodness—a clear departure from darker past portrayals. As Gunn reimagines the DCU, Superman (2025) marks the beginning of a bold, interconnected future for the franchise.
The two-minute, nine-second trailer opens with a dramatic city collapse, quickly introducing Superman in action, saving innocent lives amid chaos. But all is not well, Lex Luthor enters the scene with a grand plan to dismantle the Man of Steel, both physically and emotionally.
His declaration: “I’ll destroy you, and of course, that reporter you always do interviews with. Who raised you as a child? I’ll kill them too,” sends chills down the spine.

The plot thickens as Luthor amasses an army, aided by powerful allies like The Engineer, who invades the Fortress of Solitude and wields mechanical limbs turned into deadly weapons. Superman finds himself outmatched and even captured by a robotic force, until he rises again, injured but undeterred, declaring: “No matter what you do to me, Luthor, your plans won’t work.”
We also get a sneak peek of bizarre and thrilling new threats—including a fire-breathing Kaiju, the Hammer of Boravia, and Superman battling in space while cradling a deformed alien infant—Baby Joey, the offspring of Metamorpho and Sapphire Stagg.
The trailer hints at emotional complexity, too, as Superman is seen seeking help from Superdog Krypto and a robotic medic unit, suggesting themes of healing, legacy, and self-discovery.
Produced by Peter Safran and James Gunn, Superman is a DC Studios presentation in association with Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company. Executive producers include Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther.
