The month of September is packed with two major releases for Kollywood. As the clash was declared between Suriya’s Kanguva and superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, the makers of the Mighty Valiant Saga announced its postponement.
With rumors circulating around the postponement of Kanguva‘s release, Suriya cleared the air. On Saturday, Suriya, at his brother Karthik’s Meialzhagan audio launch, officially made the announcement stating that since actor Rajinikanth is senior to him, the team Kanguva has decided to postpone the release. As per reports, the movie is expected to be released around November now.

Amidst the allegations of power politics over the postponement, Suriya cleared the air saying that Vettaiyan would be coming on October 10 and the team should give way to the film out of respect. He also mentioned Rajinikanth’s contribution to Tamil cinema over 50 years, adding, “He came to act when I was born. I think it’s best if Superstar’s film comes out first.”
Moreover, Suriya has also expressed his confidence in his team’s two and half years of hard work on the film saying that more than 1000 people have worked hard day and night for Kanguva, just to present a special film in Tamil cinema. “From Siva to the entire cast and crew, they have worked so hard in testing climatic conditions for two and a half years,” he said.

Expressing his faith on the audience, he said, “I have a strong belief that hard work will not go away. I’m sure you [the audience] will give that love and respect. When it comes, it will receive everything.”
On the other hand, team Vettaiyan has kick-started its dubbing sessions. Announcing the movie’s production progress, the makers dropped a video on X and wrote, “Superstar Rajinikanth at the dubbing session. Watchout VETTAIYAN is on the way.”
