Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025, marking a historic first-ever win for her country at the prestigious global pageant.

The grand finale was held on Saturday night at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India, amidst much glitz and glamour.

The 72nd edition of Miss World witnessed 107 contestants from around the globe competing for the crown, but it was 24-year-old Chuangsri who captivated the judges and the audience with her elegance, compassion, and commitment to social causes. Representing Thailand, she edged past strong contenders, including Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu, who was declared first runner-up.

Dressed in a breathtaking white gown adorned with opal-inspired florals—a tribute to her name and a symbol of healing and strength—Chuangsri received the crown from the reigning Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic. The moment was met with roaring applause as Thailand celebrated a long-awaited victory on the international stage.

The night was made even more special with the presence of former Miss India Namrata Shirodkar, who served on the jury and attended with her daughter, Sitara Ghattamaneni. Sharing selfies with fellow guests like Manushi Chhillar and Sonu Sood, Namrata called the event “magical” and praised the grace and strength of all the participants.

India has hosted the Miss World pageant three times, with the latest editions in Delhi, Mumbai (2024) and now Hyderabad (2025). The last Indian winner of Miss World was Manushi Chhillar in 2017, bringing India’s total title wins to six.
