The much-anticipated film Veera Dheera Sooran featuring Vikram and director Arun Kumar faced an unexpected hurdle in its release. The film, initially set to be released today, was temporarily halted by the Delhi High Court. As a result, the morning shows of the film were cancelled, leading to chaos.

The unexpected delay led to chaos among the audience who gathered in theatres this morning, wanting to watch the film. In a theatre in Ramanathapuram, a sudden clash erupted between two groups, resulting in one individual sustaining a severe head injury.

As per reports, during the gathering, two groups, one from the Peravoor village and the other from Gandhi Nagar in Devipattinam, engaged in celebratory dancing to drums. Soon the excitement turned into a minor scuffle, quickly escalating into a full-fledged brawl.

Realizing the gravity of the issue, the police intervened to diffuse the tension between the two groups, allowing the audience to enter the theatre. The Kenikkarai police have also launched an investigation on the issue, gathering statements from the witnesses.

Legal Issues Behind Veera Dheera Sooran

The legal issue arose following a petition filed by B4U, which had financed the film and claimed rights over its OTT release. B4U sought compensation from the film’s producer, Riya Shibu for not finalizing the OTT deal before the film’s release.

Based on the petition, the Delhi High Court placed an interim stay on the film’s release until 10:30 am. As a result, all the shows scheduled to premiere at 9 am were cancelled.

According to reports, the High Court also asked the producer to immediately deposit Rs 7 crores and file all documents related to the case within 48 hours.

Meanwhile, actors Chiyaan Vikram and SJ Suryah and director Arun Kumar have reportedly came forward to pave the way for the film’s theatrical release by funding the producer.

Veera Dheera Sooran Postponement

In a recent development, the Delhi High Court has extended the stay of the film for an additional four weeks. Moreover, reports claim that the official announcement about the film’s rescheduling will be made soon, offering clarity on its release.
