“We Are All Bisexual”: Swara Bhasker’s Remark On Sexuality Sparks Backlash

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has once again made headlines with a statement that has stirred a storm of reactions online. Known for her bold opinions and unfiltered take on politics and society, the actor recently claimed that “we are all bisexual.”

In an interaction with Scree, Swara said that if left to their natural instincts, people would all be bisexual. According to her, heterosexuality is not a natural condition but rather an ideology that has been imposed for thousands of years to ensure the continuation of the human race.

“If you leave people to themselves, they are all bisexual, but heterosexuality is an ideology that has been put in us for thousands of years. Because that is how the human race will perpetuate, so it has to be the norm,” she said. The actress further revealed having a crush on politician Akhilesh Yadav’s wife, Dimple Yadav.

The comment immediately sparked heated debate across social media, where users called her statement “bizarre” and “scientifically unfounded.”

Some trolled her for reviving what they described as “old seminar theories,” while others questioned why she was speaking on behalf of everyone.

One user quipped that her logic was equivalent to saying, We’re not designed to eat food, but we do so only to survive.” Another commented, “This used to be a popular line in literature classes two decades ago. My god, she is stuck in time.”

Others were more blunt in their criticism, calling her “brainwashed” and questioning her sanity. A section of social media also asked why she was generalising human sexuality, insisting that her views do not reflect everyone’s lived reality.

On the professional front, Swara Bhasker is gearing up for her upcoming projectMrs. Falani. She was last seen in the re-release of Raanjhanaa, which attracted controversy after an alternate AI-generated ending was added — a move strongly opposed by director Anand L. Rai, actor Dhanush, and other members of the original team.
