‘One Direction’ fans woke up to the news of the demise of their favorite gang member Liam Payne on Thursday. The singer tragically died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Maya Henry, ex-fiancée of Payne, soon after the news of his demise had spread, received hate comments for all the recent posts she had uploaded on her social media account.

One comment read, “You should be happy now.” While another added, “Ur fault, u know what u did”. However, supporting comments began pouring in to counter the hate messages of toxic fans. “There was one time I tried to get him help and then he was not taking it,” she continued. “He would text my mom, ‘I’m not doing well, have Maya contact me,’ because I wouldn’t respond,” one wrote. Some even suggested turning off the comment section to avoid negativity.
The 23-year-old model had recently taken legal steps against Payne accusing him of persistently reaching out to her, sparking a new chapter of tension between the former couple. She had reportedly issued a cease-and-desist letter to the singer.
A source close to the situation has revealed to PEOPLE that Payne “was extremely overwhelmed by the legal issues” involving Henry. The influencer, who had dated the One Direction member from 2018 to 2022, while speaking on an episode of “The Internet Is Dead” podcast, claimed that her ex continues to bombard her with messages. “It’s always from different phone numbers, so I never know when or where it’s coming from. He even emails me,” Henry said. “He doesn’t just reach out to me; he also bombards my mom’s phone. Is that normal behaviour?”
However, the Texas model had described it as a “manipulative tactic” to make her feel bad for him despite them not being together. “There was one time I tried to get him help and then he was not taking it,” she continued. “He would text my mom, ‘I’m not doing well, have Maya contact me,’ because I wouldn’t respond.”

In February, the influencer released a fictional book, “Looking Forward”, inspired by the journal entries she wrote while dating Payne. Speaking out about her turbulent past, Maya in her book had alleged that the singer had demanded her to go through an abortion without proper medical help so that the news would not be public and had left her all alone to deal with the heartbreaking scenario.
