The Mammootty-starrer Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, the Malayalam directorial debut of Gautham Vasudev Menon, hit theatres today. As the film generates mixed reactions, with many praising its cinematic brilliance and neat direction while others felt disappointed over a somewhat underwhelming experience, there is one name that stood out for all. Nanditha, aka Sushmitha Bhat.

Her character enters the story when Dominic goes to investigate the missing Pooja Ravindran. Pooja was in a relationship with Karthik, and Nanditha is her sister. She is a dancer, and their family is from Nagercoil. Once introduced to the movie before the halftime, she takes centre stage as the main female character of the movie.

In the film, Mammootty’s character aka Dominic says, “Nanditha has the ability to distract him.” And very rightly so, because the viewer, along with Dominic, is being distracted by Nanditha’s charm and mystery.
