Indian Hepatologist Questions Bryan Johnson's Anti-Ageing Project

Kerala-based hepatologist Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known as The Liver Doctor has recently criticised American millionaire Bryan Johnson for his anti-ageing ventures and called it as a “fraud”.  He has also equated Johnson with fraudsters – American biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes and Australian influencer Belle Gibson.

Johnson is known for his anti-aging programme called Blueprint. On social media platform X, the Liver Doctor expressed his concerns over Johnson’s business practices.

“It is terrifying that people do not see Bryan Johnson as actually a well-evolved masculine form of fraudsters Elizabeth Holmes and Belle Gibson, selling both expensive and utterly useless investigations and peddling potentially dangerous snake oil supplements in the name of BLUEPRINT,” he wrote in a post on Monday.

Johnson, who is known for his extreme anti-ageing routine quickly responded to the allegations.  “Cyriac why are you so angry? Who hurt you?”  Billionaire responded to the post. Defending the anti-aging programme, he further wrote, “Blueprint offers extra virgin olive oil, proteins, nuts, and nutrients which have independent and robust scientific evidence. They are third party tested. The certificates of analysis are publicly available. They are affordably priced.”

However, when the Doctor asked Johnson in private messages details regarding clinical proof and correct dosage, he did not get a response.

The liver expert challenged Johnson to show scientific proof that his supplement works. He also asked how Johnson decided on the correct dosage for each constituent ingredient.

“You are nothing but a smooth talking snake-oil peddling version of Baba Ramdev in the USA,” Dr Philips wrote.

“I challenge you to prove BluePrint’s clinically relevant evidence instead of giving me farts in the wind-tunnel responses,” he further added.

Johnson has not responded to Dr Philip’s questions or the post so far.
