Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: At least three people were detained on Saturday morning after they allegedly entered the Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya attempting to offer prayers.
The Ram temple, which was built on the site where the 16the- century Babri Masjid stood, was constructed after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the temple trust following the demolishing of the mosque by the right wing group. The Hindus believe the place to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, leading to decades of dispute, and its demolition in 1992.
