Temple Was Put On The Market So Soon: Amitabh Bachchan Criticised For Promoting Realty In Ayodhya

Temple Was Put On The Market So Soon: Comment On Amitabh Bachchan's Land Buying For Sarayu Project

In a dig at Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan“s decision to buy land near Ram temple and promoting the property right after the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the senior Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Hegde taunted Big B advising him to have some shame. Sanjay Hegde then sarcastically commented that the temple was put on the market so soon.

Bachchan has bought the plot of around 930 sq. metres (10,000 sq. Feet) at the cost of Rs 14.50 crore near the Ram temple as part of the upcoming project of the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) Mumbai. The project plans to build apartments and homes around the Ram temple terming it could be “the global spiritual hub.”

The Bollywood mega star’s investment in the real estate of Ayodhya amid the Ram temple inauguration has invited both criticism and praise from the opinion leaders on social media. It is learnt that the place has been projected to be the spiritual hub and hence owning houses and buildings would be a valuable investment.

HoABL is also building a 7-star-rated 51-acre mix-use posh complex named “The Saryu”, next to the banks of the Saryu River and the Bollywood star said that he is looking to work with the builder company House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu project in Ayodhya.

However, there are people who reject the social media trolls targeted at the Bachchan, defending him and saying that it is time for entrepreneur to cash in. “Political correctness aside – for an entrepreneur the time to cash in is during the hype. Otherwise, pilgrimage sites rarely find a sustained audience,” Vishal Bhargava, a real estate enthusiast wrote on X.

Dhirendra Pratap Singh, another X user expressed his opinion about the economic boost propelled by the temple income  “If everything goes as per plan, Kashi, Ayodhya, and Mathura alone will make Uttar Pradesh a more than one trillion dollar economy,” he said.

However, the builder firm, the House of Abhinandan Lodha is celebrating the entry of Amitabh Bachchan as an ambassador of its Sarayu project, with the company welcoming the actor saying “the first citizen” of the Sarayu.
