As the inauguration event of Ram Temple inches closer, latest reports point that Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has bought a plot of land in Ayodhya. Bollywood actor has purchased a plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya by Mumbai-based developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), Hindustan Times reports.

Even though builders have kept the size and value of the property purchases confidential, reportedly it has spread over 10,000 square feet and possess a value of Rs 14.5 crores. Concerning the investment, Bollywood actor said: “I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital,” Hindustan Times quotes as the actor is saying.

Abhinandan Lodha, the chairman of the HOABL, said they were excited to welcome Amitabh Bachchan as the “first citizen” of The Sarayu, and referred it as a “milestone moment”. “His investment in our Ayodhya project reflects confidence in the city’s economic potential and deep appreciation for its spiritual heritage,” Hindustan Times quotes as the chairman is saying. Besides, he said that Amitabh Bachchan”s association would turn the project into “a symbol of Ayodhya’s global spiritual significance.”

Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan”s birthplace Allahabad (now Prayagraj) is a four-hour drive from Ayodhya.

The Ram Temple inauguration ceremony, or the idol consecration ceremony will take place on January 22, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the event. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust is planning to invite over 7,000 people for the event. The trust has also invited close 4,000 seers from across the country and 50 guests from abroad.
