30-Year-Old Bleed To Death After Accident; Denied Help From Passerby; Laptop, Camera Stolen

Piyush Pal, a 30-year-old filmmaker, bled to death after a road accident in India’s capital, Delhi. As per the reports, he lied bleeding on the road at least half an hour while the passerby and bystanders went busy recording videos and photographs of the accident and the victim. Mr Pal was taken to hospital only two hours after the accident and his laptop and mobile were also stolen.

The accident, in which Mr Pal collided with another bike, was recorded on a busy road in south Delhi on Saturday around 9.45 pm. He was riding home to Kalkaji on his new bike and hit a tree after the collision. He lied on the road, suffering severe head and facial injuries, while the people around recorded videos and selfies. His mobile and laptop were also stolen and the man was taken to a private clinic half an hour later.

“He had lost a lot of blood and people who were standing there told me he had been there for around half an hour”, Times of India quoted Pankaj Jain who witnessed Mr Pal’s pathetic condition on road. Mr Jain asked help from the people who were standing nearby to lift Mr Pal. They hired an autorickshaw and took him to the clinic, where facilities were minimal. Mr Pal was then shifted to the 4km away PSRI Multispecialty Hospital on Press Enclave Marg. It was only by 11 pm in the night, he got a proper medical attention, but subjected to death as the injuries were serious. He was working as a freelance photographer at Gurugram.

On investigating the nearby CCTV footages, the Delhi police identified that Mr Pal was hit by another bike driven by 26-year-old Bunty. As Times of India reports, the police said that they were unable to trace any eyewitnesses but registered a case on Monday collecting the security camera visuals. Mr Pal died by Tuesday evening, said the police.

According to the PSRI Hospital, to which Mr Pal was admitted, the victim was brought to the hospital in a critical condition and was suffering from severe head and facial injuries. He was immediately transferred for the ventilator support, but said dead by Tuesday around 5.15 in the evening.
