
4 Wanted Ranjan Pathak Gang Members Shot Dead In Delhi Encounter
Four most-wanted gangsters were shot dead in a joint encounter carried out by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Bihar Police in the early hours of Thursday.
According to ANI, the gunfight, r took place around 2:20 a.m. on Delhi’s Bahadur Shah Marg, following a coordinated operation to intercept members of the Ranjan Pathak gang, who were reportedly planning a major criminal activity ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
According to ANI, the encounter unfolded after the police received intelligence inputs that the gang was mobilising for a significant strike in Bihar. A team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch, in coordination with the Bihar Police, laid a trap near Rohini. When officers attempted to intercept the suspects’ vehicle, the gangsters allegedly opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.

“All four accused sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Rohini, where doctors declared them dead,” said DCP Crime Branch Sanjeev Yadav, as quoted by ANI.
The slain men were identified as Ranjan Pathak (25), the gang’s leader; Bimlesh Mahto (25); Manish Pathak (33); and Aman Thakur (21). While Thakur was a resident of Karwal Nagar in Delhi, the others hailed from Sitamarhi district in Bihar.
Senior officials from both the Delhi and Bihar Police visited the site following the encounter. Forensic and crime scene investigation teams were deployed to collect evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events, as reported by ANI.
According to PTI, all four gangsters were wanted in several high-profile cases in Bihar, including murders and armed robberies. Ranjan Pathak, the alleged kingpin, was wanted in at least eight criminal cases and carried a reward of ₹25,000 on his arrest. He operated an organised network across parts of Bihar and adjoining states.

An NDTV report added that Pathak had previously challenged the Delhi Police through social media posts, boasting about his gang’s reach and threatening future attacks.
One such intercepted audio message, cited by NDTV, revealed discussions about planned operations before the Bihar Assembly elections — a development that prompted authorities to tighten surveillance on the gang.
Weapons and other materials recovered from the site have been sent for forensic examination. Police officials said investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other members of the Ranjan Pathak gang still active in Bihar and the National Capital Region.
