Actor Raghava Lawrence Announces Entry Into Politics, May Contest From Trichy East On TVK Ticket
Chennai, Tamil Nadu: A noted Tamil actor, film director, composer, and choreographer Raghava Lawrence has announced his entry to politics on Friday, June 12. The 49-year-old explained circumstances forced him into politics after years of charity work.
In a social media post, the Lawrence said he is joining politics without expecting anything in return. “After watching this video, please share your advice and guidance in the comments. If you say “No,” I will not enter politics and will continue my selfless service to society. But if you say “Yes,” I am ready to enter politics,” the actor wrote on X while sharing his video explaining his plan.

He further added that he would reveal when and with whom he intended to start the journey with. The move comes amid Tamil Nadu’s 2026 polls where actor Vijay became chief minister, sparking rumours Lawrence might contest a by-election for Vijay-led TVK party.
