Tamil Actor Siddharth was forced to leave a press conference on Thursday when members of pro-Kannada organisations walked in and started creating disruptions. He was in Bengaluru for the promotion of his latest film, Chithha. It was when he was addressing the media, pro-Kannada activists barged to the conference, and asked him whether it was necessary for him, an actor from Tamil Nadu, to promote his film amid the ongoing Cauvery dispute, The News Minute reports.
He tried to speak again, but, due to interruptions actor was forced to get up and leave the meet altogether.
In the background of Cauvery dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, farmers and Pro-Kannada groups have organised a Bengaluru bandh on September 26, and another Karnataka bandh on September 29.
Chithha is Siddharth’s latest Tamil film, directed by S U Arun Kumar and produced by Siddharth himself, under the banner of Etaki Entertainment. The film also stars Nimisha Sajayan, Sahasra Shree, and Anjali Nair. In Bengaluru, Siddharth was promoting the dubbed version of the film, titled Chikku.
