Afraid Of Parents, Mumbai Woman Inserts Blade In Body After Being Raped By Auto Driver

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a Mumbai auto-rickshaw driver. A resident of Nalasopara in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, the victim was found late on Tuesday night near Ram Mandir railway station in Goregaon.

When the woman was found, it was identified in a state that she inserted stones and a blade into her body to avoid being revealed that she had been raped and to avoid her parents’ scolding.

The victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination, which revealed foreign objects, including a surgical blade and stones, and doctors successfully removed the items.

According to the police, the woman and the auto-rickshaw driver went to Arnala Beach together, reportedly to spend the night together, which is around 12 km away from her house. But the duo did not get a hotel room as she had no proper ID, and hence both spent the night on the beach. Police suspect that it was then the woman had been raped. After the crime, the accused auto driver fled the site, NDTV reported citing police sources.

Being tense about returning home after spending a night away, the girl came to the railway station in Nalasopara, but she bought a surgical knife and inserted it into her vagina. The woman then felt pain and experienced bleeding. She contacted the local police, who took her in and filed a rape case against the auto-rickshaw driver.

Police suspect the woman is experiencing mental health troubles.
