After "Chakravyuh" Names Expunged In Parliament, Rahul Gandhi Takes Social Media Route

Following Speaker Om Birla’s intervention that forced Rahul Gandhi to withdraw the names of NSA Ajit Doval and businessmen Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani from his arguments in Parliament, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha turned to social media to continue his critique. Earlier in the day, the Congress leader unleashed a scathing attack on the Modi government in the Lok Sabha as he was participating in debate on Budget 2024 which was presented last week.

Posting a graphic featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, NSA Doval, Mukesh Ambani, and Gautam Adani, Gandhi elaborated on his “Chakravyuh” analogy. He likened the situation to the ancient battle of Kurukshetra, where Abhimanyu was trapped and killed in a Chakravyuh, a formation controlled by six people, also known as Padmavyuh for its lotus shape. Gandhi claimed that a modern, 21st-century lotus-shaped Chakravyuh was trapping India, controlled by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Adani, Ambani, Ajit Doval, and Mohan Bhagwat.

He argued that this modern Chakravyuh was ensnaring the youth in unemployment and paper leaks, farmers in debt, the middle class in taxes, MSMEs in tax terrorism, jawans in Agnipath, and SC, ST, OBC, and minorities in injustice. He pointed out that the Education budget, at 2.5%, was the lowest in 20 years, and criticized the Finance Minister for not addressing the widespread issue of paper leaks in her speech.

Gandhi asserted that the INDIA bloc had begun efforts to break this Chakravyuh and would continue to fight until the atmosphere of fear was replaced with equal opportunity, justice, and freedom for all. He emphasized that the BJP should not mistake India’s youth for Abhimanyu, stating that they were like Arjun and would break free from this Chakravyuh.
