Alleged Love Triangle Murder: Teen Girl Shot Dead In Mumbai

A 19-year-old woman was shot dead in broad daylight in Mumbai’s Shivaji Nagar area on Tuesday. Police said the murder was the result of a suspected love triangle.

The victim, identified as Shifa Shaikh, was allegedly called out of her home by another woman from the same locality.

According to investigators, Shifa received a phone call asking her to come for a meeting near the Furqania Masjid area in Shivaji Nagar. Unaware of the danger, she stepped out to meet the woman.

Police said that during the meeting, a heated argument broke out between the two women over a personal dispute. The argument quickly escalated.

The accused, a 25-year-old woman, allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Shifa at point-blank range in the face.

Officials confirmed that the bullet entered through Shifa’s cheek and lodged in her skull, causing severe and fatal injuries. The incident happened in the afternoon, creating panic among local residents.

Hearing the gunshot, locals rushed to the spot and immediately took the injured teenager to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar.

However, doctors declared her dead. Medical officials informed police that the injury indicated extremely close-range firing.

The Mumbai Police launched an immediate investigation. Using CCTV footage and local inputs, officers identified the suspects and laid a trap.

Within 12 hours of the crime, police arrested the main accused and a 23-year-old man believed to be connected to the case.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the crime was linked to a relationship dispute involving the victim and the accused woman’s boyfriend.

Police are now questioning both arrested individuals and trying to determine the exact sequence of events and the source of the weapon used in the shooting.
