Three new Vande Bharat trains were flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 31. Two passengers from Vande Bharat traveling from Meerut to Lucknow have come forward alleging misbehavior from BJP workers on the train.

Congress has shared a video on microblogging site X alleging that a female passenger, an influencer was assaulted by BJP workers. Sharing the video of the influencer narrating the incident, Congress wrote on X, in Hindi, “Narendra Modi today flagged off the Vande Bharat train from Meerut to Lucknow. Then BJP leaders took control of this train. When a female passenger in the train was going to get food, BJP leaders misbehaved and assaulted her. This video is a witness to the conduct, character and face of the BJP.”

In the 2-minute video shared, while speaking to the local media, the female passenger claimed that she was assaulted by the BJP workers. The girl’s brother said that when they both headed out of the cabin to get some food, they were blocked by the BJP workers who were interrogating them about where they were heading. Similarly, they were stopped while returning back to the cabin stating that the cabin belonged to BJP. This incident led to an argument and ended in one of them ‘hitting’ the girl. Talking to the media, the girl said that she had proof by showing the video recorded on her mobile phone.

Fact checker Muhammed Zubair too has posted the same incident along with the video on X. He wrote, “A Woman and her companion alleges she was misbehaved by BJP Workers in Vande Bharat train inaugurated by PM Modi in Lucknow today.

The woman and her brother claim even they are BJP supporters and influencers and were invited to cover the inauguration.”

Muhammed Zubair in his post highlighted that the women and her brother were invited to cover the inauguration.

Narendra Modi has inaugurated three Vande Bharat trains connecting Meerut with Lucknow, Madurai with Bengaluru, and Chennai with Nagercoil. This initiative aims to enhance rail connectivity and promote faster growth in southern states, a government statement said.
