Gorakhnath: A security lapse was reported during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Gorakhpur when a cow suddenly came close to his vehicle shortly after he stepped out of the car.
The incident happened on Friday evening during the inauguration of the Gorakhnath overbridge.
According to TOI, the Chief Minister’s vehicle stopped at the venue, where BJP MP Ravi Kishan first got down, followed by CM Yogi Adityanath.

Within moments, a cow ran towards the vehicle and moved in the direction of the Chief Minister. Security personnel acted quickly, formed a safety cordon around the CM, and safely pushed the animal away. No one was injured in the incident.
After the incident, a preliminary inquiry was conducted.
Officials found negligence on the part of Arvind Kumar, a municipal corporation supervisor, who was in charge of civic arrangements in the area. He has been suspended with immediate effect.
The matter came to public attention after a video of the incident surfaced on social media on Sunday.
Following this, Gorakhpur Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sograwal ordered an internal probe to find out how the cow managed to enter the high-security area despite standard safety checks.
Officials told TOI that VVIP movements invlove strict route checking and area sanitisation well in advance. They added that such lapses raise serious concerns about security preparedness.

On December 4, a bus mistakenly entered a warning zone during the Chief Minister’s movement to the airport in Gorakhpur.
Municipal Commissioner Sograwal told TOI that any compromise in VVIP security would not be tolerated. He assured that security arrangements would be reviewed and strengthened to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
