In a shocking video, a police officer was seen kicking and shoving Muslim men offering Friday prayer on the roadside in Delhi’s Inderlok area, triggering outrage across social media over the police act. The Masjid got overcrowded on Friday, which led to many reaching the roadside to be part of the prayer. Soon, a few police officials reached the spot and one of them kicked the men while in the prayer kneeling down.

The people then surrounded the police officer questioning his objectionable behaviour towards the men while in prayer. The officer was then seen arguing with the angry crowd.

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi shared the video on his social media platform and wrote, “This Delhi Police soldier kicking a person while offering namaz probably does not understand the basic principles of humanity. What is this hatred that is filled in the heart of this soldier? Delhi Police is requested to file a case against this official under appropriate sections and terminate his service.”

However, reacting to the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police MK Meena said that an investigation has been ordered into the incident while suspending the police officer with immediate effect. The DCP also assured disciplinary action in the incident. As more crowds rushed to the spot, security have been tightened by deploying more police personnel.
