Magicpin, a food delivery app in Delhi sent a customer an “oxygen” bag along with their food order on Tuesday. This bizarre delivery comes as Delhi’s air pollution levels have reached alarming heights and the app sent it to a girl who ordered food via its app.

Residents are struggling to breathe and the city’s poor air quality is causing severe health concerns, social Media users wrote. A user commented: People laughed when the first mineral water bottles were introduced, saying, ‘Who would buy it? We have plenty of free water.’ But now, it’s a necessity. The same will happen with these oxygen packs—they’ll be popular in the future.”

As the national capital chokes with the Air Quality Index (AQI) hitting 526 on Wednesday, reaching the ‘hazardous level’ zone, Delhi environment minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Rai announced that 50 per cent of the state government’s employees will move to work from home.

Amidst the toxic gas chamber-like situation in the national capital, Delhi University shifted to online classes till November 23; and Jawaharlal Nehru University till November 22. Trains and flights to the national capital are either delayed or cancelled as visibility plunged due to the toxic smog.
