After three days of launching of Congress crowdfunding campaign ‘Donate for Desh’ in national capital, the grand old party collected around Rs 4 crores successfully.
In a post shared by Ajay Maken, the treasurer of Indian National Congress wrote on X, “We’re thrilled to share that in just the first 72 hours, over 1.5 lakh transactions were attempted, marking a promising start to our journey. Thanks to your generous contributions, we’ve raised around Rs 4 crores through a transparent and accountable process.”

The Congress leader also said in his post that the issue of not receiving the certificate is also now addressed. A helpline number was shared in the post for contacting to any issues to certificate issuance.
“We’ve received some reports about donors not receiving their certificates. To address this, we’ve set up a dedicated helpline at 801 025 5000, specifically for resolving issues to certificate issuance,” the post read.

On Monday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched the party’s crowdfunding campaign ‘Donate for Desh’ in the national capital aiming to raise funds ahead of the general election which will be held next year. He then called out on people to join the fight against unemployment and rising costs.
This campaign was launched as a part of the party completing 138 years. Party leader Ajay Maken has said anyone could contribute to the party by donating Rs 138, 1,380 or 1,38,000 as per the donors wish. Mallikarjun Kharge launched the campaign by donating a sum of Rs 1,38,000 from his salary in the presence of party leaders and general secretaries KC Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh and treasurer Ajay Maken.
