In a massive drug bust on Sunday, October 13, Delhi and Gujarat police seized Rs. 518 kg of cocaine worth Rs 5,000 crore. The product has been recovered from a pharmaceutical company named Aavkar Drugs Limited Company in Gujarat‘s Ankleshwar.

As per the latest update, Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested 5 people from the state in connection with the operation.

“They manufacture drugs and give them to a pharma solution company in Delhi NCR, after which the company sends them to Delhi and other places. The people arrested by the Special Cell from Gujarat include the owner and the mediator. All of them were involved in the drug syndicate for a long time,” ANI quotes as the Delhi Police is saying.

In a span of just two weeks, the law enforcement agencies conducted significant drug seizing operations in Gujarat and Delhi. On October 1, the Special Cell confiscated 562 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana from the warehouse of one Tushar Goyal in south Delhi’s Mahipalpur. Subsequently, on another investigation on October 10, about 208 kilograms of cocaine was seized from a shop in Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar.

“So far, a total of 1,289 kg cocaine and 40 kg hydroponic marijuana from Thailand have been recovered in this case, which is worth Rs 13,000 crore,” ANI quotes, as reported by Delhi Police.

Under the helm of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) and directive received from Home Minister Amit Shah agencies and police are actively engaged in a mission on zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
