Ex-Union Minister, BJP's Ravneet Bittu Detained After Protesting Against Punjab CM Mann's Convoy With Liquor Bottle, Eggs

Punjab police on Saturday detained BJP leader and former Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu after he allegedly waved a bottle of liquor, and tomatoes and eggs at chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s convoy. Bittu stood near the university gate, holding a bottle of liquor toward the chief minister’s vehicle.

The BJP leader claimed he was protesting against an alleged attack on his convoy near Batala by returning eggs and tomatoes while targeting AAP over governance. He claimed that he was ‘returning’ items thrown at his own convoy the day before.

Bittu accused AAP supporters of the earlier attack, which damaged his vehicles during the BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra. However AAP denied involvement in the alleged incident.

On Friday, Bittu alleged that his cavalcade was attacked while he was on his way to attend a BJP yatra, accusing the AAP government of turning into a “gangster party” and alleging police inaction during the incident.
