A massive explosion was reported near the CRPF School in Sector 14, Rohini on Sunday. The blast was powerful enough to cause damage to the school’s wall, however, no causalities were reported. Soon after the blast, forensic teams and officers of the Delhi Police Special Cell had reached the spot.
“Today, at around 7:47 am, the police received a PCR call that a blast with a loud noise took place near the CRPF school in Rohini’s Sector 14,” the police said.

The police found the walls of the school damaged and there was a foul smell in the area. “The glasses of the nearby shop and a car parked near the shop were damaged. However, no one was injured,” an officer informed.
The Fire Brigade is also present at the site. As per NDTV report, a video recorded by the resident shows a cloud of smoke billowing from near the blast site. One of the eyewitnesses said, “I was at home. I heard a loud sound, saw a cloud of smoke and recorded the video. I do not know anything more. A police team and an ambulance have reached the spot.”
Senior police officer Amit Goel said they have called in experts to investigate what led to the blast. The police have said they have not found anything suspicious yet and the underground sewage line is being examined as part of the probe.
“Today at 07:47 hrs, a PCR call was received in which the caller informed that a blast with lots of noise took place near CRPF school Sector 14 Rohini. SHO/PV and staff reached at the spot, where the school wall was found damaged with a foul smell.
The glasses of nearby shop and car parked near the shop were found to be damaged. No one was injured,” the police said in a statement.

The incident is currently under investigation and officials are working to determine the source and nature of the blast.
