Bagalkot, Karnataka: A 23-year-old woman died by hanging at her home in Galagali village, Bilagi taluk, while her husband reportedly stood by and recorded her death throes on his mobile phone.

However, police are now probing whether the suicide was a case of abetment or outright homicide. The deceased woman had returned to her parents’ home after an altercation with her husband. The husband later took her back.
On the day of the incident, Bhagyashree tied a saree to an iron ladder or rack inside the bedroom and hanged herself. Instead of intervening or calling for help, Praveen reportedly recorded the entire sequence on his smartphone. Investigators also noted that a beer bottle was found placed on the bed at the scene, adding another layer of suspicion to the case.
