
Lawyer Throws Shoe At CJI B R Gavai Inside SC; Shouts "Will Not Tolerate Insult Of Sanatan Dharma"
New Delhi: A 71-year-old advocate threw a shoe at chief justice of India B R Gavai during court proceedings inside the Supreme Court on Monday. October 6. The lawyer, while hurling a shoe at the chief justice, shouted, “India will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan Dharma.”
The bizarre incident occurred as the lawyer was allegedly resentful of the recent remarks made by the CJI during a PIL seeking restoration of a Lord Vishnu idol in the Khajuraho Temple complex in Madhya Pradesh.

Delhi Police arrested the accused, identified as Rakesh Kishore, who allegedly took out his shoes and threw them at the CJI around 11.36 am.
However, the chief justice remained composed and urged lawyers present in the courtroom to continue with their arguments. He stated that he is not distracted, and these things do not affect him while asking, “Don’t get distracted by all this.”
