LK Advani Admitted To Delhi's Apollo Hospital, Condition Stable

Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Wednesday. He is under observation, and his condition is stable, the hospital said. Dr Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in neurology, is overseeing his care.

Last week, the 96-year-old politician was admitted to AIIMS Delhi due to age-related health issues. Advani was examined by a team of doctors from various specialties, including urology and geriatric medicine. He underwent a minor procedure before being discharged on June 27.

Earlier this year, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian honor, on Advani. The ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other senior leaders, was held at Advani’s residence due to his declining health.

Advani served as Deputy Prime Minister from June 2002 to May 2004 and as Union Home Minister from October 1999 to May 2004. He was BJP president multiple times from 1986 to 1990, 1993 to 1998, and 2004 to 2005.
