Former deputy prime minister and veteran BJP leader LK Advani was admitted to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday. Doctors informed that his condition was stable.
The 96-year-old is admitted in the old private ward of the AIIMS hospital where he is reportedly receiving treatment under the care of urology specialists.

The hospital has not given any more details about the veteran BJP leader’s condition. The BJP leader is suffering from age-related health conditions.
In March this year, he was awarded the prestigious Bharat Ratna at his residence by President Droupadi Murmu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the occasion.
LK Advani has served as the Minister of Home Affairs from 1998 to 2004 and as deputy prime minister from 2002 to 2004. He is one of the co-founders of the BJP and was the party’s prime ministerial candidate during the 2009 general election.

Born in Karachi on November 8, 1927, Advani joined the RSS as a Swayamsevak in 1942. Capping a parliamentary career of nearly three decades, LK Advani was the first Home Minister and later Deputy Prime minister in the cabinet of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He served as the BJP National President from 1986 to 1990, then from 1993 to 1998, and from 2004 to 2005.
