Maharashtra Horror: Wife, Alleged Lover Kill Husband, Stage Death As Accidental
Sangli, Maharashtra: In yet another horrific murder case, a 28-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his wife and her alleged lover in Maharashtra’s Sangli district recently.
The accused initially attempted to pass off the crime as an accidental death, through it came to light after a post-mortem revealed strangulation marks, leading to the arrest of the woman and her alleged accomplice following sustained interrogation, reported hate detector.

The victim is identified as Anand Sarje, and the accused are identified as his wife, Pallavi Sarje, and her alleged lover, 23-year-old Deepak Ajmane.
Anand’s death was initially registered as an accidental one on June 25 after his wife Pallavi claimed he had been assaulted by unidentified persons, returned home, went to sleep and later lost consciousness, according to the police. The post-mortem examination raised suspicion after doctors found scratch marks on Anand’s neck consistent with strangulation, leading to an investigation, which monitored Pallavi’s movements.
During questioning, she allegedly gave contradictory statements before eventually confessing to the crime, officials said. Police Inspector Sudhir Bhalerao of Vishrambag Police Station said the post-mortem report from the government hospital revealed scratch marks on Anand’s neck, indicating that death was caused by strangulation.
The investigation established that the death was caused by strangulation. During sustained interrogation, she confessed to committing the crime with the help of her alleged lover. Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is continuing.
According to police, Pallavi had called Ajmane to her house following an argument with Anand. While Anand was asleep, the two allegedly strangled him to death before fabricating a story to conceal the murder. Officials said Anand and Pallavi had married after falling in love and had two children. Their relationship had been strained for the past two years due to frequent domestic disputes. Police said Pallavi claimed she had suffered physical and mental abuse from Anand, who was allegedly addicted to alcohol, and cited this as the motive behind the killing.
