New Delhi: In a shocking video that went viral on social media, a man was seen purportedly urinating on the Delhi metro platform, triggering outrage from the public and calls for his arrest.

The eight-second footage, posted by Ghar Ke Kalesh on Monday, January 19, shows the incident near platform 2 quickly drawing traction online. Netizens, while coming down heavily on the man, called for his arrest, a heavy fine and rejection from the metro.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) has issued a statement regretting inconveniences and urging reports to their helpline.

There have been several incidents of public nuisance in public spaces such as Metro and parks in several cities, such as littering urging for stricter monitoring, punishment and education to enhance civic sense.

Many questioned authorities noting that the man seems to be under the alcohol influence, asking “Why was he even allowed to enter the station in the first place?”

An X user, Shubam pointed out that people are seriously lacking civic sense, and some openly urinates on platforms, used metro tickets are thrown on the floor instead of dustbins, and people eat at stations and leave the waste. “Overall, there’s a worrying lack of basic civic responsibility in the nation’s capital,” the user wrote on X.
