A criminal case has been lodged against Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, and 12 others in Kanpur, alleging that false promises made by them about the safety measures of the Mahindra Scorpio led to a tragic death. The complainant in this case is Rajesh Mishra. Mishra”s son, Dr. Apoorv Mishra, who was driving a black Mahindra Scorpio SUV, was involved in a fatal accident and lost his life.
Rajesh Mishra argues that the irreversible loss he suffered was a result of the false promises made by the Mahindra company. He had purchased the black Mahindra Scorpio on December 2, 2022, relying on the advertisements that assured the effectiveness of its safety measures. He had gifted the car to his son, Dr. Apoorv Mishra, who tragically met with the accident.
Following the loss of his son, Mishra discovered that the advertised safety claims were false and the information provided was vague. “On January 14, 2022, my son, Dr. Apoorv, was returning to Kanpur from Lucknow in the same SUV. Along with Apoorv, his friends were also in the car, and all of them were wearing their seat belts (as mentioned in the police report). Due to heavy fog, the car collided with the divider and overturned multiple times, resulting in the immediate death of my son,” stated the complaint.
The filing of this case became possible only after the plaintiff, who tragically lost his son, Dr. Apoorv Mishra, in the unfortunate incident on January 14, 2022, approached a local court to obtain the necessary authorization for initiating legal proceedings on Saturday. The dealership manager, Anand Gopal Mahindra, has also been included in the list of defendants
