However, netizens had slammed the event for titling it to be as “Modi & US” instead of “India & US”.

One of the users wrote, “Don’t you think, it should be “India & US”…. Instead of ” Modi & US” Perfect example for Megalomaniac “.

Many came forward slamming it to be a PR stunt for Modi. “Yes, boosting for Modi. India is bearing the cost,” another added.

Another asked sarcastically, “Country India name changed?”

“International PR stunt will continue…” another wrote.

Being concerned about using foreign policy to boost an individual image at the international level, Rahul Rai wrote, “Most importantly, foreign policy must be treated as the nation’s, not as a tool of any individual leader. I was both surprised and concerned when an event during Modi’s recent trip to the U.S. was framed as “Modi&US” rather than “India & U.S.” Such personalization puts India in a poor light.”

He further added, “The Ministry of External Affairs should ensure that India’s foreign policy remains focused on national interests, not individual glorification. After all, Modi merely represents India, but he is not India itself.”

Meanwhile, few others countered the argument by stating, “Nothing can beat, India is Indira, Indira is India”.

“It was not an official Government of India event. Modi spoke on behalf of India and highlighted its achievements, unlike Pappu, whose visit aimed to demonize and discredit the country while supporting ideology of individuals like Pannu,” another added.
