Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday warned that Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil should not test the patience of his government. Addressing a series allegations made against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by the activist, Eknath Shinde stated that latter’s speech looks like political script prepared by the opposition leaders.

While speaking to the reporters on the eve of the session of the Maharashtra legislature, Maharashtra chief minister said: “Those who are protesting again and again against the government must not test our patience. They should not create a law and order problem. I wonder why Jarange’s speech looks like the script generally used by Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray,” PTI quotes as Eknath Shinde is saying.

Concerning Jarange’s aggressive attack, Chief Minister said that appropriate action would be taken as per law. “It is a conspiracy in progress and it would be exposed soon,” he added.

Earlier on Sunday, while speaking in Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna district Maratha activist raised serious allegation that Devendra Fadnavis is attempting to kill him. “Some people are being lured and pressured to make false allegations against me. Fadnavis is behind these conspiracies. He wants to kill me. I am ready to march to Sagar bungalow (Fadnavis’ official residence in Mumbai’s Malabar Hill) right away,” PTI quotes as Manoj Jarange is saying. His accusation even took the activist’s supporters by surprise.

In response to allegations, Devendra Fadnavis said in his official X handle: “The Maratha community will not believe false accusations by anyone. The script that Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar were speaking till yesterday, now someone else is speaking the same script. Who is behind this will come out at the right time. But if anyone takes up the law, police will take appropriate action.”

In last week, Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government approved the draft bill proposing 10 percent Maratha reservation in education and government jobs. Dismissing the Cabinet’s move, Jarange Patil has ascertained his demand for quota for the all Marathas under the OBC bloc and wanted ‘blood relatives’ of Kunbi Marathas also be considered in the registration.
