Noida, Uttar Pradesh: The director of a play school in Noida’s Sector 70 was arrested for placing a spy camera in the teacher’s washroom. The camera, placed in the bulb socket, allowed him to watch live footage of people entering the washrooms through both his computer and mobile. The police were alerted after a teacher discovered the camera.
According to DCP Central Noida, the police have not found any recordings or a chip in the camera.

On December 10, a teacher noticed an unusual object with a faint light in the bulb holder in the washroom. After closer inspection, she discovered a hidden spy camera and immediately notified the school’s security guard. The teacher reported the same to the school director, Navnish Sahay, and school coordinator, Parul.
The teacher alleged that neither party took action against the matter.
After the police were notified, Noida Central Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shakti Mohan Awasthi launched an investigation, confirming the spy camera was operational and live-streamed footage without recording it.
The Ghaziabad-based Sahay, who has been the director of Learn with Fun play school for the past six months, was subsequently arrested.
During police interrogation, Sahay confessed that he had bought the camera, specifically designed to be concealed within a bulb holder, online for Rs 22,000. He reportedly used the camera to stream live footage from the teacher’s washroom directly to his personal devices. The school’s security guard alleged that the camera had been installed by Sahay himself.

The teacher further alleged that she had found a similar spy camera in the school’s washroom before. Even after she handed over the spy camera to the coordinator, Parul, no action was taken by the authorities, the teacher claimed.
An investigation is underway with police examining whether the security guard was involved in the installation of the camera, reported NDTV. The school’s operations have been suspended until further notice.
