On Facebook Live, Former Shiv Sena Corporator Shot DeadAbhishek Goshalkar, a for UBT Shiv Sena corporator, was shot dead live while doing a session on Facebook. Goshalker, before being shot, was seen in conversation with the murderer Mauris Noronha, popularl as Mauris Bhai. According to reports, Mr Noronha, with whom Abhishek had some personal enmity, is also dead. He had shot himself after shooting Goshalkar, son of a former Shiv Sena MLA. The attack happened in the office of Mr Noronha, in Mumbai’s Dahisar vicinity on Thursday.
Right after the attack, Abhishek was transported to Karuna Hospital in Borivali in critical condition.
This murder is being reported right after a BJP MLA was captured on video discharging a firearm at an Eknath Shinde faction member within a police station in Ulhasnagar, sparking concerns about the state of law and order in Maharashtra.
Abhishek, son of Vinod Goshalkar, a seasoned member of Uddhav’s party, has familial ties to Mumbai’s political landscape. Vinod held the esteemed position of chairman at the Mumbai Buildings Repairs and Reconstruction Board. Adding to their political lineage, Abhishek’s spouse also held a position as a corporator.
Recently, Abhishek and Noronha has reconciled, after that the former went to the latter’s office for a webcast event. The motivation behind the shooting remains obscure at present.
Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut demanded home minister Devendra Fadnavis’ resignation over the killing.
He also claimed that the Noronha was at chief minister Shinde’s house recently as he was invited their to join the Shiv Sena led by Shinde.
