
World Leaders React To India's Military Strikes In Pakistan, PoK
India launched aerial strikes on “terrorist camps” in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday in a major escalation between the two nuclear-armed rivals. India’s military intervention “Operation Sindoor”, a response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, hit at least nine targets, which killed eight people, according to Pakistan.
The Indian military has said that three civilians were killed in Jammu and Kashmir during overnight artillery firing by Pakistan’s army along the Line of Control border. Following the attack, India has closed several major airports in the north, which includes Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh), Leh, Jammu and Srinagar (J&K), Amritsar (Punjab), Bikaner (Rajasthan), and Hindon in Delhi NCR.
How World Leaders Reacted To Indian Strikes Inside Pakistan Terror Targets?
US President Donald Trump has called for a quick end to the escalation while terming the Indian attack a “shame.” While speaking to the reporters, the President said “It’s a shame, we just heard about it,” adding that he guessed people knew something was going to happen based on a little bit of the past. They’ve been fighting for a long time. “I just hope it ends very quickly,” Trump said.
Reacting to the Indian strikes in Pakistan, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ spokesperson noted he was very concerned about the military operation, while calling for maximum military restraint from India and Pakistan. “The world cannot afford a military confrontation between India and Pakistan,” the spokesperson added.
Responding to India’s strike in terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan, the Chinese foreign ministry said that it is concerned about the current developments between India and Pakistan and urged both countries to avoid worsening the situation. The ministry urged both the nations to refrain from taking actions that further complicate the situation. An ally of Pakistan, China, further called on the neighbours to put peace and stability and remain calm and exercise restraint.

A statement issued by UAE Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan urged both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions. It further asked the neighbours to avoid new escalation, underlining that it would threaten regional and international peace.

Japan chief cabinet secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi expressed concern over the situation, noting it may lead to further retaliatory exchanges and escalate into a full-scale military conflict. “For the peace and stability of South Asia, we strongly urge both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and stabilize the situation through dialogue,” news agency Reuters quoted Japan chief cabinet secretory.
Following India’s strike inside Pakistan, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that the world must show zero tolerance for terrorism.
Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi has expressed support to India’s retaliatory strike to the Pahalgam terror attack, stating “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!,” in a social media post.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also lauded Indian Armed Force, stating India has an unflinching national policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK.
“We are extremely proud of our Indian Armed Forces who have stuck terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. We applaud their resolute resolve and courage. Since the day of the Pahalgam Terror Attack, the Indian National Congress has categorically stood with the Armed Forces and the Government to take any decisive action against cross border terror,” the Congress leader said, noting that national unity and solidarity is the need of the hour. “The Indian National Congress stands with our Armed Forces. Our leaders have shown the path in past, and National Interest is supreme for us,” Kharge wrote on X.
