A perturbing incident befell in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, where a middle-aged couple allegedly died by Suicide after their son informed them of his decision to marry a transgender person.
According to reports, 45-year-old Subba Rayudu and his 38-year-old wife Saraswati took the extreme step after conflicts with their 24-year-old son Sunil Kumar over his relationship with a transgender person.
Kumar had been in a relationship with a transgender person for the past three years and was adamant about not marrying anyone else. This led to frequent arguments with his parents who were opposed to his decision.

The situation worsened when Kumar insisted on living with his partner, which did not sit well with his parents. Police said that Kumar had previously attempted suicide over this matter.
Investigations revealed that Kumar had spent Rs 1.5 lakh on the transgender community, which led to demands for the amount to be returned to his parents.
The community members allegedly publicly insulted Kumar’s parents and police stated that this elevated their stress which ultimately drove them to take their own lives.

A similar case was reported in Rajasthan last year, where a couple allegedly died by suicide because their daughter married her boyfriend outside their caste.
This has occurred in Rajasthan’s Pali district, where an elderly couple took their own lives after their daughter married against their wishes. The couple, who were deeply distressed by their daughter’s decision, left behind a suicide note as well.
The couple had tried to persuade their daughter to reconsider her decision to marry outside their caste, but she refused to listen. The couple, who were unable to come to terms with their daughter’s choice decided to end their lives. This incident occurred on the Pali-Jodhpur highway, where the couple jumped in front of a moving train.
